St Clare Kindergarten Program

Our early childhood education service offers Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Programs for children in the year prior to attending Prep.

In our kindergarten programs, your child will participate in play-based learning experiences designed to encourage a child’s physical, social, intellectual, language and emotional skill development to support their transition to Prep.

Our university qualified Early Childhood Teachers implement early education programs designed for individual child’s needs, based upon their interests. Learning is observed, documented and reflected upon, to guide further learning experiences and enhance children’s learning and development.

Our teachers use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) to shape their educational programs. The EYLF forms part of the National Quality Framework for children from birth to five, focusing on relationships, wellbeing, and learning through play.
Together, these frameworks support thoughtful planning, extend children’s learning, and integrate key areas such as literacy, numeracy, science, the arts, and physical development. They also promote strong partnerships with families, communities, and professionals to create rich, meaningful learning experiences.

All St Clare centres are approved providers of FREE Kindy. Free Kindy offers 15 hours of gap-free kindy for 40 weeks of the year up to 600 hours to all eligible age Kindergarten children. The rest of the 12 weeks of the year you are covered by your Child Care Subsidy (if eligible) so that you can benefit from 52 weeks of subsidised child care and education for your child. The St Clare Group centres don’t close for the school holidays and we do offer long day care for all children so you can take advantage of our hours while you work. To be eligible for Free Kindy children will be turning 4 years old by June 30th of their Kindergarten year. Check the eligibility table below.
